My books did come and I've been busy sewing ever since! Although I don't have a lot of sewing skills yet, I've found that the illustrations in the books are very easy to understand and 2½ outfits down I'm doing ok.
I've been a bit scared of binding, so I kept changing my daughters patterns to have a facing. But you have to be brave sooner or later and give these things a go. My first attempt on the blue dress is abit all over the place, but I got it alot straighter on the grey top.
I've decided that my strong suit may not be in choosing fabric. The blue dress is a great Summer colour blue, but the print is somewhat 80's. And the casual grey top I was going for has so much shine to it that in the sunlight I feel like a glitter ball. Note to self - simple is best!
But the patterns themselves are great, so I'm looking forward to making more things from Drape Drape Vol 2.
(Excuse the headless photo's, when I'm braver I'll put the rest of me up!)
