This extra large top was a freebie with a surfing magazine subscription. It was too large for my husband, but I found a use for it....I re-fashioned it into a long sleeved top for my son. My son instantly loved it - why?! Because it was Ben 10 green. He loooooves Ben 10. Crazy as it is, he has never ever seen the cartoon, but the merchandising is so powerful that he knows of him, and he loves everything that has the cartoon boy on it. Watches, drink bottles, clothes, shoes, even his scooter! He didn't want the 'funny monkey' on his new top, he was desperate to have Ben 10 featured, but I persisted and won, yay!!!
I found some transfer paper, which you put through your printer and then iron the image onto your top. It worked out pretty well, although I put a plastic cutting board between the two layers of material and the material stuck to the softened plastic. I don't know what I was thinking?! I was able to tear it away without any harm to the top thankfully. (The cutting board is slightly green though, hahaha.) I think next time, I will do the transfer before I sew up the garment just in case it doesn't transfer properly. I think it was a bit risky the way I did it. I really like it though, it's a pretty funky little top :)
