My little girl turned three years old! How times flies by. I wish my two stayed this age forever, they are just the sweetest things. My inspiration came from a dress made on Straightgrain. I saw it, loved it, and just had to make it! I used a couple of different patterns to put this dress together which although time consuming, I really enjoyed. I like trying to make it work and fitting all the pieces together. I love the style, the peter-pan collar, the turned up cuffs, and the full twirling circle skirt. Just beautiful.
The bodice is lined and there is an invisible zipper down the back which runs slightly into the skirt. I thought the skirt may be hard to hem, being a circle, but if you keep the hem small, and run a gather stitch around the hem line, it helps to curve the material up without puckering. (Just like you would a curve of a pocket.) Thanks mum for that advice!
