I made this sweet cape from an off white wool blend. It had great texture that I loved straight away...but not while I was sewing it! It kept stretching out of shape and fraying. I don't know why I don't stick to 100% cotton which is so simple to sew with, haha! The cape has a satin lining and does up at the front with a big button around a satin loop.
I grabbed this pattern from a free tutorial from Simple Simon and Co. It really is a great big circle with a peter pan collar. I added the slits for her arms to go through because I lengthed the cape and made it an outfit by itself, rather than something small over her shoulders.
It has been a very mild Autumn so she hasn't had a chance to wear it, so it is nice we had a wedding to attend where the cape suited the occassion perfectly.
