Our good friends invited us for lunch with advice to dress the kids in old clothes. They have an amazing cubby house built in and around a huge Mulberry Tree and being berry season, the kids clothes and feet would no doubtably be stained purple by the end of the day....which they were!
So I did, apart from my daughters skirt which I quickly made because as you can see it was perfect for hiding any berry stains due to the colour and pattern. In the end though, all the stains came out - got to love Preen! It has an elastic gathered waist and because the material won't fray, I did another gathered frill at the bottom, leaving the top edge exposed. Because of the length my husband said she looked like an old Nona and my father-in-law said she looked like a hippi. I'm sure both comments were intended in nice way... :)
