We have a very special occassion coming up...my sister-in-law's engagement party! She is having a beautiful breakfast celebration, in Spring, right by the water - it's going to be lovely. So I'm busy getting everyone's outfits together.
This is what I have made so far for my daughter. A dress inspired by one I saw on the divine website Dear Charlotte, Love Banjo. It is really a dress made up of rectangles - straps, waistband, and gathered skirt. The straps cross over at the back so they stay on her little shoulders and are finished with ruffles on the top. The skirt is done up on the side with a button. It looks really sweet.
Because I wasn't working from a pattern I had to keep measuring and checking the dress on her. Hard when she is such a wiggle worm and the dress is done up with pins. I couldn't face another fitting, so last night while she was sleeping I did the hem...which I think is a little short, so I will decide on that later which may mean some un-picking....or even some kind of frill....what do you think?
Oh and she's not going bare foot, today out shopping I bought her some sparkly silver shoes and white stockings :) hehehe
